2.2 Information collected automatically
When you visit the Site, our servers and third-party services automatically record certain technical information, including:
- IP address and approximate geographic region derived from it;
- browser type and version, operating system and device type;
- the referring website or campaign that brought you to the Site;
- pages viewed, links clicked, time and date of visits, and time spent on pages;
- information stored in cookies and similar technologies (see section 5).
2.3 Information received from Google when you use Google Sign-In
You may create an account or sign in using your Google account. If you do so, Google shares the following with us, based on the scopes you approve (openid, email, profile):
- your Google account identifier (the “sub” claim) — a stable, non-public identifier used to recognise your account on subsequent sign-ins;
- your name and, if available, your given name and family name;
- your email address and whether Google has verified it;
- the URL of your Google profile picture, if you have one and it is public.
We never receive your Google password. We do not request access to your Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, Google Contacts or any other Google service, and we do not use Google Sign-In data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than authentication and account management as described in section 4.
2.4 Information we do not collect
This Site does not process online card payments. We do not collect or store payment card numbers, CVV codes, or bank account credentials through the Site. Wholesale orders are quoted and settled offline under separately agreed commercial terms.
3. How we use your information
We use personal information for the following purposes:
- Creating and managing your account, including authenticating you when you sign in with a password or with Google Sign-In.
- Preparing and following up on quotations, including confirming the products, quantities and specifications you are interested in.
- Processing and fulfilling orders, including order confirmation, production planning, invoicing, shipping and delivery arrangements (including DDP shipments).
- Customer support and answering your enquiries, complaints, claims and after-sales requests.
- Business communications such as product updates, new arrivals, price lists and catalogues — where you have subscribed or where we have a legitimate interest in contacting an existing business customer, and always with the ability to opt out.
- Operating, securing and improving the Site, including monitoring for fraud, abuse, spam, and unauthorised access, and diagnosing technical problems.
- Analytics to understand how the Site is used so that we can improve its content, structure and performance.
- Complying with legal, tax, accounting and customs obligations, and enforcing our legal rights.
4. Legal bases for processing (EEA and UK visitors)
Where the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the UK GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract — to create your account, prepare quotations, process and deliver your orders, and provide customer support.
- Legitimate interests — to operate and secure the Site, prevent fraud and abuse, carry out analytics, and send relevant business communications to existing customers. We balance these interests against your rights.
- Consent — for non-essential cookies and for marketing communications where consent is required. You may withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligation — to keep records for tax, accounting, customs and export-control purposes, and to respond to lawful requests from authorities.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We also use similar technologies such as local storage and pixels. We use the following categories:
- Strictly necessary cookies — required for the Site to function. These keep you signed in, maintain your shopping cart and quotation list, remember your cookie choices, and protect forms against cross-site request forgery. These cannot be switched off through our consent tool because the Site cannot work without them.
- Preference / functional cookies — remember choices such as your selected language and display preferences.
- Analytics cookies — help us understand how visitors use the Site, for example which pages are viewed most and where visitors encounter problems. We use Google Analytics 4 (through Google Tag / Google Site Kit) and Microsoft Clarity (which provides aggregated behavioural insights such as heatmaps and session replays).
- Marketing cookies — may be set where we measure the performance of advertising campaigns on third-party platforms such as Google.
Non-essential cookies are only set after you give consent through the cookie banner shown on your first visit. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time by reopening the cookie preferences link in the footer of the Site.
You can also control cookies through your browser settings — most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent parts of the Site (including signing in and using the cart) from working.
To opt out of analytics specifically, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, use the Microsoft privacy dashboard, or enable the Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control signal in a browser that supports it. General information about cookies is available at aboutcookies.org.
6. Google Sign-In and how we handle Google user data
This section describes our handling of information received from Google APIs when you use Google Sign-In on this Site.
- What we access: only your basic Google profile information — your Google account identifier, name, email address, email verification status, and profile picture URL. We request only the openid, email and profile scopes.
- How we use it: solely to create your account, to verify that you control the email address associated with it, to recognise you on future visits, and to display your name in your account area. We use it for authentication and account management only.
- Storage: your Google account identifier and the profile details listed above are stored in our WordPress database on our hosting provider’s servers, together with the date your account was linked. We do not store your Google password or any Google authentication tokens after the sign-in process is complete.
- Sharing: we do not sell, rent, or trade Google user data. We do not transfer it to third parties for advertising, profiling, or re-marketing purposes. It is accessible only to our own personnel who need it to operate your account, and to our hosting and infrastructure providers strictly as data processors acting on our instructions.
- No human review: no human reads your Google user data except where you have given us your consent, where it is necessary for security purposes such as investigating abuse, to comply with applicable law, or as part of a documented internal business process.
- Deletion: you may ask us to unlink your Google account or delete your account and associated Google user data at any time by emailing sales@daqriglasses.com. We will action verified requests within 30 days.
DAQRI’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
7. How we share your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:
- Service providers (data processors): companies that perform services on our behalf, including hosting and infrastructure (Hostinger), the website platform and e-commerce software (WordPress and WooCommerce/Automattic), caching, email delivery and email marketing infrastructure, form handling, website backup, and consent management. These providers act only on our documented instructions.
- Analytics providers: Google (Google Analytics 4) and Microsoft (Microsoft Clarity), as described in section 5.
- Logistics and delivery partners: couriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers and their agents, to the extent necessary to deliver goods to you, including for DDP shipments.
- Professional advisers: accountants, auditors, insurers and legal advisers, where necessary and subject to confidentiality duties.
- Legal and regulatory disclosures: where we are required to do so by law, regulation, court order or a lawful request from a public authority, or where disclosure is necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, or to prevent fraud or protect the safety of any person.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or sale of assets, in which case personal information may be transferred as part of the business assets, subject to this Privacy Policy.
8. International transfers of personal information
We are based in China and our servers and service providers may be located in China, the European Union, the United Kingdom, the United States and other countries. As a result, your personal information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than the country in which you reside, whose data-protection laws may differ from those of your own country.
Where we transfer personal information out of the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, we take steps to ensure it receives an adequate level of protection, for example by relying on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, or an applicable adequacy decision. You may contact us for more information about the safeguards we use.
9. How long we keep your information
We keep personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy:
- Account information — for as long as your account remains active, and for a reasonable period afterwards to deal with enquiries and disputes.
- Quotation and enquiry records — typically up to 3 years from the last contact, so we can service repeat business.
- Order, invoicing and shipping records — for the period required by applicable tax, accounting, customs and export-control law, which is generally 6 to 10 years.
- Analytics data — retained according to the retention settings of Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity and our configuration of them.
- Marketing consent records — for as long as you remain subscribed, plus the period needed to demonstrate that we obtained consent.
When information is no longer needed, we delete it or irreversibly anonymise it.
10. How we protect your information
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorised disclosure or access. These measures include encryption of data in transit over HTTPS/TLS, hashing of account passwords, access controls that limit who can reach personal information, and keeping platform software up to date with security patches.
No method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure. While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights in relation to your personal information:
- Access — to be told whether we process your personal information and to receive a copy of it.
- Rectification — to have inaccurate or incomplete information corrected.
- Erasure — to have your personal information deleted, where there is no overriding legal reason for us to keep it.
- Restriction — to ask us to limit how we use your information.
- Objection — to object to processing based on our legitimate interests, and to object to direct marketing at any time.
- Portability — to receive information you provided to us in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format, or to have it transmitted to another controller.
- Withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent (for example non-essential cookies or marketing emails), you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
- Non-discrimination — we will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
To exercise any of these rights, email sales@daqriglasses.com with enough detail for us to identify your account. We may ask you to verify your identity before acting on a request. We will respond within the time required by applicable law (normally 30 days).
If you are in the EEA or the UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection supervisory authority. We would appreciate the chance to address your concern first.
If you are a California resident, you may additionally have the right to know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, the categories of sources, our business purposes, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it; the right to delete; the right to correct; and the right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell personal information as that term is commonly understood.
12. Children’s privacy
The Site is a B2B wholesale platform and is not intended for, and is not directed at, children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
13. Third-party links
The Site may contain links to third-party websites and services, such as our Alibaba storefront, social-media pages, and video platforms. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those third parties. We encourage you to read their privacy policies before providing any personal information.
14. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements or business operations. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Material changes will, where appropriate, be communicated by email or by a prominent notice on the Site.
